Family Sunday Lunch At The President Hotel

Family Sunday Lunch At The President Hotel

Elijah and I were very lucky to be invited to The President Hotel‘s Island restaurant to try out their new kiddie friendly facilities and buffet for Sunday lunch. We decided to make a whole family occasion out of it and invited my mother and my step father along for the meal too. It was a great opportunity for us to dress up a bit and all enjoy a gorgeous meal together.

From the moment we arrived we felt like celebrities, I think the maître d’hôtel had a little crush on my mum as he would not stop hugging her! We were escorted down to the restaurant and seated at our table. The mood was relaxed and vibey with beautiful jazzy music drifting up to us. The first thing I did was to order my flat white coffee, which since becoming a mom is always the first thing I do in restaurants! It was yum. Elijah and I then took a little walk around to take in the beautiful location. I definitely want to come back in Summer to test out that pool. We also went to check out the kids play room which was run by the very capable Kirsten. So, the idea is to have your kids play with her while the grown ups enjoy a very leisurely lunch. Now that is an idea I love!

We then ordered a lovely bottle of white wine from their extensive wine list, Elijah got a hot chocolate to warm himself up and we went to help ourselves to our starters. Now guys if I tell you this was a kiddies dream meal you better believe me. Mac n cheese, potato smiley faces, sausages and chicken strips galore. I loaded up a plate for Elijah to eat while we had starters as he was itching to go back to the kiddies playroom and get stuck into some LEGO. We all had butternut soup and some crab salad to go with their amazing bread selection. It was delicious.

Elijah finished up his food in record time, I took him to Kirsten and we delved into the most satisfing  Sunday roast. There was every kind of roast meat and a few curries to go with that. What  a treat! We drank some wine, chatted about our weeks’ and just generally relaxed while eating good food.

I went back to fetch Elijah who would only leave Kirsten’s side and the other children with the promise of the dessert table and being allowed to choose his own treats. Dessert was defiantly my favorite. along with all the sophisticated puddings there were sweeties, chocolates and even a pop corn machine which was a hit with all the children.

We all left their extremly full and itching to go back for another wonderful meal. Thank you President Hotel.
